Arader Galleries offers an extensive collection of fine, important and rare books. Spanning five centuries of European and American history, the library at 72nd Street includes the earliest atlases, the greatest voyages, and the most beautiful colour plate books ever published.
About Our Rare Book Department
Kate Hunter is the Director of the Book Department and has been collecting and describing books since a young child, encouraged by her bookseller mother, Penny Bannister, whose antiquarian book shop is in Western Australia. Kate's first professional job in bookselling was with Barbara Grigor-Taylor at Cavendish Rare Books, and then at Maggs Bros. Ltd.; since moving to New York in 2004 she has worked as a specialist in the Books and Manuscripts Dept., at Christie's. Kate has an MA in English Language and Literature from Oxford University.

While we endeavor to highlight recent acquisitions and special works on our website, this represents a mere fraction of our collection.  We invite you to visit the rare book rooms at 72nd Street and Madison in New York. To make an appointment you can contact Kate at katehunter@aradergalleries.com, or telephone 1 212 628 3668.
